-Some call this the axle flange or side hole.
-Bore repairs are mainly for aluminum and magnesium bores in bellhousings without a steel insert embedded into it. Like late 915s, 930s, G50s, 964s. Although older boxes and race cars with steel inserts need them fairly often too. Also all center sections are aluminum bores and let go frequently, but less than bellhousings since theyre up front and cooler.
-Some gearbox builders will tell you that its ok to loctite the bearing race in to stop it from spinning. While very half assed, this may occasionally work in a pinch in a slightly spun bore in a bellhousing with a steel insert embedded into it. But it most certainly never works anywhere else. And never in a customers car. Some will just loctite them in without asking because they want to make a quick buck, or because thats the way theve always done it, or they just suck, or maybe they just dont know about our services. That is wrong. Call them and ask them how they check their gearboxes and how they stop bearing races from spinning when your gearbox hits running temp.
-All bores should be checked in an oven. If they fall out or spin at running temp just coming out of the oven, they spin in your car too.
-We also rebuild 901, 914, 915, 930, G50, 964, and 993.
-Weve done hundreds of gearboxes for over a decade with no negative feedback.

-You must ship the bearings and races with the gearbox.

EITHER OLD SCHOOL GUYS SAY YOU CAN LOCTITE THEM IN, WHICH DOESNT WORK, ESPECIALLY IN ALUMINUM BORES, AND NEVER MENTION IT TO YOU, TO GET A QUICK PAYCHECK.OR A BUILDER JUST DOESNT KNOW TO CHECK THEM OR HOW TO CHECK THEM, OR ABOUT US. MAYBE THE GUY WHO TAUGHT HIM WAS NEVER SHOWN.OR ITS A BIG SHOP WITH A COUPLE DUMB ASSES BUILDING THEM THAT COULD CARE LESS ABOUT WHAT THEYRE DOING AND TAKE IT A PART AND PUT IT TOGETHER LIKE THAT.
